50 Shades of Normal at UT

On Wednesday, March 20th, Drs. Chuck and Jo-Ann Bird will be hosting an “anything goes Q&A” about sex, healthy relationships, and STIs, at The University of Tampa. The event will take place from 6-8 p.m at Reeves Theater in Vaughn Center. All students are welcome to attend and learn about “the birds and the bees.”
It will be sponsored by Live Well UT and SASS. Not only are Chuck and Jo-Ann are Board Certified Clinical Sexologists, but they are Relationship counselors, as well. They also host Hot 101.5’s ‘Sexy Thursdays’ on the radio. They were given the nickname, “Lovebirds”, due to the fact that they are a husband and wife duo. “We were therapists who have a passion for health and wellness. We’re very in tune with sexuality as well, so we decided to take on the role of sexperts. Besides the education, we want students to take away from this a positive outlook on sex.”, says Jo-Ann.
This will be the second year that the Lovebirds will be presenting at The University of Tampa. In fact, UT is the only school that they present at. They were scouted by one of the students involved with the Wellness Center here on campus. The couple recieved such great feedback last year, so they decided to bring them in for a second time. It seems that there is a good amount of students looking forward to attending this event. “I’m really excited. I’m actually interested in studying sexology so I’m hoping to not only increase my awareness on sex, but to learn about the field, as well.”, says Alexa Baiano, a UT freshman.
